Suggested uses for lemon essential oil:

Diffusing: Add a 5-10 drops to an aromatherapy diffuser to enjoy the fragrances of nature.
Room Sprays: Add 5-25 drops to 2 tsp of carrier oil (like fractionated coconut oil or jojoba) and mix with water. Put in spray bottle.
Skin care: Add 5-35 drops to 2 tsp of carrier oil for local application
Massage: add 4 drops to 2 tsp carrier oil

Begin with the lowest recommended number of drops for any method of application and adjust according to your personal preference. Botany:
Citrus limon is a mid-size tree growing up to 20 feet. It has small branches and twigs, pointed, slightly serrate light to mid-green leaves that measure up to 14cm (4 in) long. The flowers are white, the buds pink-tinged. The flowers will occur as single flowers each with five small petals. The fruit is light to medium green becoming yellow to bright yellow upon ripening. The peel is relatively thin, smooth and tight; or rough, thicker and is somewhat loosely attached.

The exact origins of Citrus limon is debated but it is suspected to be in east Himalayan region of India. The world's leading lemon growers and exporters are Italy, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Lebanon, South Africa and Australia.

The Citrus limon tree thrives in tropical to subtropical places as they are sensitive to the cold. The tree is capable of growing in a wide range of soil conditions from sandy to sandy clay and black soil.

History and Myth
The lemon tree, like other citrus trees, appears to have originated in Asia and then was carried over to other continents. It was during the 16th century that the lemon tree appeared in the New World.
